Venue

Tutorials and Classes will be held at the University at Buffalo North Campus. A campus area map can be found here. Room locations for Tutorials and Classes are listed here.

Taxis, Shuttle and Parking

Many of the recommended hotels have complimentary shuttle service from the Buffalo Airport. (Telephones in baggage claim area.) If you take a taxi to the Information Desk in Park Hall, which is close to the other UB North Campus buildings where tutorials and classes are scheduled) ask for 'Flint Loop, UB North Campus'.

Park Hall is 10-15 minutes walk from the Marriott and the other recommended hotels. If you prefer not to walk, most hotels provide complimentary shuttle service to Flint Loop. If you will need to drive to Park Hall, please inform [1], and a parking tag will be prepared for your collection at the Information Desk when you arrive.

Niagara Falls Excursion

We are assembling ad hoc groups of those interested in excursions to Niagara Falls on the afternoon of Tuesday July 21. Those wishing to participate should write ON OR BEFORE JULY 19 to Leonard Jacuzzo, indicating availability of rental car or other transport and willingness to serve as driver. Some excursions will include a visit to the Canadian side of the Falls, for which a passport and potentially also a visa are required.

Area Restaurants

The North Campus of UB has several meal options. Richmond Dining Hall will be serving breakfast and dinner, Sizzles in the Ellicott Food Court will be open 8am-2pm, Capen Cafe will be open 8:30am- 2:00pm,Putnams in the Student Union will be open 7:30am-2:00pm,Tim Horton’s in the Student Union and the Alfiero center (adjacent to Park Hall) will be open 8:00am-4:00pm, Baldy Walkway will be open 8:30am-1:30pm. The University Commons also has many restaurants. These are: Subway 11am-7pm, Young Chow (Chinese) 11am- 6pm, Burger King 11am- 7pm, Campus Cafe M-Th 9-5, Fri. 9-3, Rachel's Mediterranean M-Th 11-5, Bollywood Bistro M-F 11am- 8pm, Oh Bento (Japanese) M-Th 10am-4pm, Fri 10am -3pm

There are also several restaurants near the recommended hotels. Along with the restaurant in the Marriot, Santora's Pizza is on Flint Rd. There are also several restaurants with in a short walking distance on Maple Rd. These include Scotch & Sirloin, Pizzeria Uno , Kyoto (Japanese), Olive Garden, 800 Maple, Verbena, Red Lobster, Red Robin, Fuddruckers, and Red Pepper (Chinese) See also Bill Rapaport's Buffalo Restaurant Guide.
