The Buffalo Ontology Summer School will comprise two types of events:

- Barry Smith (Buffalo) and Alan Ruttenberg (Science Commons): From Basic Formal Ontology to the Information Artifact Ontology
- Olivier Bodenreider (National Library of Medicine): An Introduction to Biomedical Ontology
