To participate in ICBO classes for credit, UB students should register in the usual way for the following Fall Semester 2009 course:

PHI 531: Problems in Ontology (Barry Smith).

This is a variable credit course, for which credit hours, up to a maximum of 3, can be obtained as follows:

  • 1 credit hour for attending one of the four 2-day ICBO-assoociated classes listed here (one credit per course, up to a maximum of 2 credits).
  • 1 credit hour for attending a two-day Fall class to be given by Barry Smith in October 2009 (details to be announced).
  • 1 further credit hour for writing a research paper in connection with any of the three courses taken.

Only UB students may register for course credit for any of the above. Non-UB students should follow the registration guidelines here.
