OBD uses generic modeling constructs. Domain specific modeling is left to ontologies. OBD has no information model for representing genotype-phenotype associations.
Phenotype descriptions in OBD can be [PATO:Pre_vs_Post_Coordinating|pre-coordinated or post-coordinated]. Post-coordinated descriptions make use of what is sometimes called the EQ model. See the [PATO:About] page for more details on this methodology.
EQ based descriptions can be expressed as intersection-based class expressions.
